Please note the following information regarding the installation of your gas warning system. You will find individual comments in the electrical diagram for your system, which we prepare after the order confirmation.
Installation of gas control panels
If possible, a gas control panel should be installed outside the measuring zone so that the panel can be operated and the measured values can be read without entering the zone.
Mounting height gas sensors
Depending on the density of the gas, gas sensors are mounted on the ceiling, on the floor or at approx. 150 cm above the floor. If the gas to be measured is heavier than air, the gas sinks, so the gas sensor is mounted 30 cm from the ground. If the gas is lighter than air, the gas rises, so the gas sensor is mounted on the ceiling. If the gas is about as heavy as air, the gas will float in the middle of the room, so the gas sensor is mounted halfway up, approx. 150 cm above the floor.
Nitrogen Gas Monitoring
Nitrogen is an oxygen-displacing gas and cannot be measured directly. Nitrogen is therefore monitored with oxygen sensors. The position of the oxygen sensors depends on the aggregate state of the nitrogen:
Nitrogen | Position of oxygen sensors |
---|---|
Gaseous | 150 cm above floor |
Liquid | 30 cm above floor |
Wiring
We recommend the following cable for bus communication:
U72M 1 x 4 x 0.6 mm2 shielded
Connect the shield to ground on the panel side
A 3-wire cable is sufficient for analog communication:
3 x 0.5 mm2 shielded
Connect the shield to ground on the panel side
Signaling devices can be wired with 2 wires:
TT 2 x 1.5 mm2
