Analogue communication between gas sensors and gas control panel runs via a 3-wire, shielded cable and communicates using an analog, linear output signal between 4 and 20 mA.
This current signal can be evaluated by the gas control panels with the appropriate terminals.
Advantages
- Connection of sensors without bus communication, e.g. ATEX-certified sensors
- Evaluation of the signals by third-party products and other PLC
Disadvantages
- Elaborate wiring due to star topology
- Max. cable length: 500 m
For applications other than EX zones, we recommend the use of bus communication between the gas sensors and the gas control panel.
