Various gas warning systems are used in sewage treatment plants in the following areas:
- Mechanical cleaning
- Biology
- Mud treatment
- Operations building
- Elimination of micropollutants EMC
The classic gas measurement in sewage treatment plants concerns the combustible sewage gas. This is obtained through the sewage treatment process and mostly used in the sewage treatment plant itself as heating fuel. The extraction, transport and storage of sewage gases requires monitoring of flammable gases to prevent explosive atmospheres from occurring.
An interesting application is the gas measurement of the inflow water. In the intake area, the sewage water is examined for combustible substances and then certain water treatment processes are switched on. This is usually solved with gas suction systems, which lead the water vapors to the gas sensor via a pipe system.
Gas is monitored with storage of chemicals such as precipitants and the monitoring of these storage rooms and process mechanics.
In sewage treatment plants, there are usually some EX zones with special hazards, which are covered by ATEX-certified gas sensors.
Wastewater treatment plants are complex objects and require careful planning by specialized engineers. We would be happy to support you in planning the gas measurement technology, preferably on site, so that we can record your needs precisely.
